Remote Desktop

Remote Desktop
A feature in high-end versions of Windows (XP Pro, Vista Business, Win7 Pro, etc.) that allows the machine to be run remotely from another Windows machine over any dial-up or LAN TCP/IP connection. Remote Desktop is actually the Windows-based Terminal Server, which uses the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to exchange only keystrokes and screen changes. There are no version restrictions in the remote computer. For example, any Windows machine can remotely control the user's office computer with Remote Desktop. See remote control software.

Remote Web Workplace, a feature of the Small Business Server, allows smaller branch offices, mobile employees and home workstations to access a terminal server or a remote desktop via a secure web session (https).
Users who access their remote desktop PC with a laptop while on the go or employees working from a home office are faced with a problem when they want to print out a processed document: The printer driver must be installed on the remote desktop or the virtual PC in order to print to the local printer on site.
