Rentschler, Frederick

Rentschler, Frederick (Brant) (1887–1956) aircraft manufacturer; born in Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Princeton in 1909 and served as an engineer during World War I. In 1925 he took over the buildings and name of Pratt and Whitney, which eventually became part of United Aircraft Corporation. As chairman of the board of United, he produced Sikorsky helicopters, Hamilton standard propellers, and Pratt and Whitney engines.
