Resht Treaty of 1732

a treaty between Russia and Iran signed in Resht on Jan. 21 (Feb. 1), 1732. By this treaty, Russia returned to Iran the Caspian provinces of Gilan, Mazanderan, and Astrabad, which Russia had received by the Russo-Persian Treaty of 1723. According to the Resht Treaty, Russia was granted such privileges as the right to tax-free trade with Iran. The Resht Treaty remained in force until the Gandzha Treaty of 1735.
