Re

 or Ra

In ancient Egyptian religion, the creator god and god of the sun. He was believed to sail across the sky in his solar bark and at night to travel in another bark through the underworld, where he had to vanquish a serpent before he could be born again. As the creator, he rose from the ocean of chaos, creating himself and then engendering eight other gods. From the 4th dynasty, kings held the title Son of Re, and Re later became part of the throne name they adopted at accession and was appended to the names of such gods as Amon and Sebek.

Re

(also Ra), in ancient Egyptian mythology and religion the god of the sun, who traveled across the sky in a boat that appeared on the horizon in the morning and sank into the “kingdom of the dead” in the evening. The cult of Re evidently emerged early in the third millennium B.C. By the middle of the third millennium B.C., Re was venerated as the king and father of the gods. Later, Amon was identified with Re (hence the name of the god Amon-Re). The city of Heliopolis was the center of the Re cult.

e) RE = retinol equivalents (=1 [micro]g retinol or 6 [micro]g or beta- carotene).
Carrots have the most Vitamin A among vegetables by far, at 1,317 ug retinol equivalent per 100 grams, followed by spinach (533) and kale (350).
Therefore the value for retinol equivalents (RE) = [micro]g retinol + [micro]g [beta]-carotene equivalents/6 3.
