Reuss, Ferdinand Friedrich
(in Russian, Fedor Fe-dorovich Reiss). Born Jan. 26 (Feb. 6), 1778, in Tübingen; died Mar. 21 (Apr. 2), 1852, in Stuttgart. Russian chemist of German nationality. Reuss graduated from the University of Tübingen in 1801. He was a professor at Moscow University from 1804 to 1832 and at the Moscow branch of the Medical and Surgical Academy from 1817 to 1839. He left Russia in 1839. In 1807, Reuss read a report (published 1809) on his discovery of cataphoresis. REFERENCEMenshutkin, B.
