Revel, Bernard (1855–1940) rabbi, educator; born in Pren, Lithuania. He came to the U.S.A. in 1906 and earned an M.A. from New York University and a Ph.D. from Dropsie College (Philadelphia). He became the head of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Yeshiva in New York in 1915, and in 1928 he helped found Yeshiva College, the first Jewish liberal arts institution.
