Ribičič, Mitja (mē`tyä rĭbĭchĭ`ch), 1919–, Yugoslav politician. He participated in the revolutionary student movement and joined the Communist party in 1941. He was a member of the partisans of Josip Broz Tito Tito, Josip Broz , 1892–1980, Yugoslav Communist leader, marshal of Yugoslavia. He was originally Josip Broz.

After the war he served as a member of the executive council of Slovenia, as a deputy of the Slovenian parliament (1951–63), and as a deputy of the federal parliament (1963–67, 1969). Ribičić served as president (1969–71) of the federal executive council, a position equivalent to that of premier, and as president (1982–3) of the Yugoslav Communist party.
