A low, traverse ridge of bedrock on the floor of a glacial valley. Also known as rock bar; threshold; verrou.

Riegel 

a transverse ridge of bedrock on the floor of a glacial valley. A riegel forms when hard rock outcrops on the surface of the valley floor or when the valley is overdeepened by intensified glacial activity.
