In October 2000 NIST announced that Rijndael algorithm has been selected as the proposed AES. The first South East Asia AMPP partner, D'Crypt will offer a set of Gigabit key agile encryption and decryption cores based on the Rijndael algorithm to Altera customers developing high-end information security products. NIST selected the Rijndael algorithm for AES precisely because it was efficient and non-intrusive when used on the new generation of devices like handhelds and smart phones. |
