Nick, who was named as one of the UK's leading circus ringmasters in World's Fair, the circus industry's newspaper, said: "We tried the council but they have a policy of only three circuses a year and they have been booked up.
Both require talented ringmasters to direct the attention of viewers to the varied acts appearing simultaneously in the three rings.
He beat out 29 other aspiring ringmasters and landed the coveted role despite a self-described insecurity about his voice, a fear he overcame with the support of his family and peers.
