Ringwood State Park

Location: Off Route 287 Exit 57. Follow signs to park.
Facilities: Picnic areas, playground, multi-use trails, nature trails, bathhouse, boat launch, boat rentals, food concession, skeet range, lookout point, historic homes, formal gardens, visitor center.
Activities: Fishing, ice fishing, hunting, boating, canoeing, swimming, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, historical programs.
Special Features: Park includes two historic homes, the New Jersey State Botanical Garden, and the Shepherd Lake Recreation Area. The two homes are Ringwood Manor, a mansion once owned by Abraham S. Hewitt, one of America's foremost iron masters, and Skylands Manor, a historically accurate reproduction of an English Jacobean mansion. Most of the recreational activities at the park are centered around Shepherd Lake.
