Riumin, Valerii Viktorovich 

Born Aug. 16, 1939, in Komsomol’sk-na-Amure. Pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR. Member of the CPSU since 1972.

Riumin graduated from the Moscow Forest Engineering Institute in 1966 and joined the staff of a design office. He was named a cosmonaut in 1973. From Oct. 9 to Oct. 11, 1977, Riumin was V. V. Kovalenok’s flight engineer aboard the Soyuz 25 spacecraft. His flight time was 48 hr 46 min.

Riumin has been awarded the Order of Lenin.
