Suir

Suir (shr), river, 85 mi (137 km) long, rising on Devilsbit Mt., central Republic of Ireland. It flows south through a fertile agricultural region, then east past Clonmel and Waterford to the Barrow River, with which it forms Waterford Harbour. The Suir receives the Aherlow River and empties into the Atlantic Ocean at Waterford Harbor.

HEAVY downpours caused the River Suir to burst its banks yesterday with some areas submerged in up to a metre of water.
Walking along the quays on the banks of the River Suir, they were surprised to see a tug boat named the Ingleby Cross moored alongside the quay.
Our base for the weekend was The Adelphi Wharf Suites, sat on the edge of the River Suir, and was perfectly located in the middle of the city.
