The roof of the building is the home of Riverbank State Park, a popular recreational facility with three swimming pools, an amphitheater, an athletic center, a skating rink, a restaurant and sports fields -- and, of the two New York State park facilities in the City, the only one built on top of a water pollution control plant.
The event kicks off on August 11 and runs through August 14 at Riverbank State Park on 145th Street and Riverside Drive in Harlem, New York.
Wheels were spinning ever so fast at the daylong track events at Riverbank State Park, but the atmosphere was a bit more festive on Randall's Island, where larger crowds assembled for the field events, exciting wheelchair softball, and a new celebration at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games--its first ever Kids Day.
