Facilities: Visitor contact station, hiking trails. Activities: Boating, canoeing, fishing, hunting, hiking, educational programs. Special Features: Refuge consists of five different tracts of land along 70 miles of the Roanoke River and two distant satellite tracts in other river basins. Habitats: 17,500 acres of bottomland hardwood forest and cypress-tupelo sloughs, and black and brown water streams. Access: Open during daylight hours year round.
