Robert Louis Stevenson State Park

Location: 7 miles north of Calistoga on Highway 29.
Facilities: Picnic areas, hiking trails, vista point; no drinking water or restrooms.
Activities: Hiking.
Special Features: In 1880, author Robert Louis Stevenson spent his honeymoon on the slopes of 4,343-foot Mount Saint Helena. Although nothing remains of Stevenson's cabin, the site is identified on the trail to the summit. Today's hikers can climb the 5-mile trail to the mountain's summit for spectacular views of the Bay area and, on clear days, the top of Mount Shasta.
