Robinson, David Moore

Robinson, David Moore 

Born Sept. 21, 1880, in Auburn, N. Y.; died Jan. 2, 1958, in Miss. American archaeologist and historian.

Robinson was a professor at various higher educational institutions, including Johns Hopkins and several universities and colleges in Illinois and Mississippi. In 1909 and 1910 he was director of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens. He headed excavations in Pisidian Antioch in 1924 and in Olynthus from 1928 to 1938. Robinson published and wrote reports on the Olynthiac excavations.
