Bour, Rodion Khristianovich 

(also, R. Kh. Baur). Born 1667; died 1717. Russian cavalry general (1717).

Bour was a cavalry captain in the Swedish Army; he defected to the Russian Army in September 1700 at Narva during the Northern War and was accepted into military service. Until 1704 he commanded some dragoon regiments in the Baltic region and from 1707 to 1709, a cavalry corps, which played a major role in combat actions, especially at Lesna. In the Battle of Poltava in 1709 he commanded the right flank of the Russian Army.
