roentgenotherapy [‚rent·gə·nō′ther·ə·pē]
(medicine) Roentgenotherapy a branch of radiotherapy that is concerned with the theory and practice of therapeutically using X rays generated on an X-ray tube at a voltage of 20–60 kilo-volts (kV) and a skin-focal distance of 3–7 cm (short-range roentgenotherapy) or at a voltage of 180–400 kV and a skin-focal distance of 30–150 cm (long-range roentgenotherapy).
