Romankov, Petr Grigor’evich 

Born Jan. 4 (17), 1904, in Eisk, in what is now Krasnodar Krai. Soviet chemical engineer. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1964).

Romankov graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Technology in 1929. From 1929 to 1933 he was an assistant at the N. E. Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School. In 1933 and 1934 he taught at the D. I. Mendeleev Moscow Institute of Chemical Engineering and the Moscow Institute of Chemical Machine Building. In 1934 he began working at the Lensovet Leningrad Institute of Technology, where he became head of the subdepartment of processes and apparatus in 1941. His main works have dealt with the kinetics of processes in chemical technology. Romankov has been awarded five orders and various medals.
