Romano, John (1908– ) psychiatrist, educator; born in Milwaukee, Wis. He founded and chaired the department of psychiatry at the University of Rochester (1946–71), one of the first psychiatric facilities built as an integral part of a university hospital. He was a leader in medical and psychiatric education.
