Romny Geese
(named for the city of Romny, Sumy Oblast), local geese of certain regions of the Ukrainian SSR. Most have one or two folds on the abdomen and no knob or wattle on the head. The plumage is gray, white, or mottled. The male weighs 5.0–5.5 kg, and the female 4.5–4.7 kg. The female usually lays 14–15 eggs; the maximum is 48. Each egg weighs approximately 150 g.
