Rozsa, Miklos (1907– ) composer; born in Budapest, Hungary. A child prodigy on the violin, he enjoyed some success in Paris as a serious composer. In the 1930s he began scoring films for his fellow Hungarian, Alexander Korda, in London, and then settled in Hollywood in 1939. Notable among his many screen credits are Spellbound (1945) and Ben-Hur (1959). His noncommercial works were rediscovered by a later generation who formed a society to perpetuate them with recordings.
