Rubenid
a dynasty of Armenian kings in the Cilician Armenian State, ruling from 1080 to 1375. The founder of the dynasty was Ruben, a retainer of the Ani king Gagik II. Outstanding figures in the dynasty included Leo I (1129–41), Mleh (1169–75), Ruben II (1175–87), Leo II (1187–1219), Hethum I (1226–70), and Leo III (1271–89). In 1375 the last king of the Rubenid dynasty, Leo VI, was captured by the Mamelukes and exiled to Egypt. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
