Rubtsov, Nikolai Mikhailovich
Born Jan. 3, 1936, in the village of Emetsk, Arkhangel’sk Oblast; died Jan. 19, 1971, in Vologda. Soviet Russian poet. Rubtsov was a seaman and a worker. He graduated from the M. Gorky Institute of Literature in 1969. He began publishing in 1957. Rubtsov’s poetry is extremely simple in style and theme. It primarily deals with the poet’s beloved Vologda Oblast. Its diversified and genuinely original imagery is carefully structured and refined. Collections of Rubtsov’s poetry include Lyrics (1965), Star of the Fields (1967), The Soul Preserves (1969), and Sound of the Pines (1970). WORKSZelenye tsvety. Moscow, 1971.Posledniiparokhod.
