Rubtsova, Ol’ga Nikolaevna
Born Mar. 7 (20), 1909, in Moscow. Soviet chess player. Honored Master of Sport (1952); international master (1956). Rubtsova graduated from the N. E. Bauman Higher Technical School in 1936. She was women’s champion of the USSR in 1927, having won the country’s first women’s chess championship, and again in 1931, 1935, 1937, and 1949; she was the world women’s chess champion from 1956 to 1958.
