Amok

 

a mental illness observed among the inhabitants of the Malay Archipelago.

The illness manifests itself in a paroxysmal disruption of consciousness, arising suddenly or after a short period of mental disturbance. The afflicted person starts running, senselessly destroying everything in his path. When the attack is over, recollection of what happened is extremely vague or completely absent.
