Ruse Agricultural Machinery Plant
(full name, G. Dimitrov Ruse Agricultural Machinery Plant), an enterprise in the city of Ruse, People’s Republic of Bulgaria; produces silage harvesters, reapers, and corn pickers. The Ruse Agricultural Machinery Plant was founded in 1907 as the Eugen Mülthaupt and Company Machine Factory and Foundry. It repaired milling machines, elevators, water wheels, and turbines. The workers of the factory took an active part in the revolutionary struggle—for example, the strikes of 1919 and 1922. The enterprise was nationalized in 1947 and rebuilt with assistance from the USSR. In 1949 it was named after Georgii Dimitrov. The plant exports its products to many different countries. The Ruse Agricultural Machinery Plant was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1965 and the G. Dimitrov Order in 1972. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
