Rutan, Richard Glenn (1938–  ) aviator; born in Loma Linda, Calif. A test pilot, he served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force before becoming president of Voyager Aircraft Inc., in 1981. In 1987 he set the world record for a closed-circuit, nonstop, nonrefueled around-the-world flight.
