Rutkovich, Ivan
Dates of birth and death unknown. Ukrainian painter who worked in Zholkva (present-day city of Nesterov) at the end of the 17th century. Rutkovich gave religious subjects a secular interpretation. His works, which are noted for their vibrant colors, include icons (tempera with the addition of oil) for iconostases in churches in the villages of Volitsa Derevlianskaia (1680–82) and Skvariavy Novaia (1697–99; L’vov Museum of Ukrainian Art).
