Säkkäki
Dates of birth and death unknown. Uzbek poet of the first half of the 15th century. Säkkäki was popular in Samarkand circles during the reigns of Sultan Khalil (1405–09) and Ulug Beg (1409–49). He glorified the greatness and beauty of humanity and wrote love poems. He exposed injustice, apathy, and other vices. Säkkäki wrote qasidas on an enlightened monarch in honor of Ulug Beg. Säkkäki’s works were important in the development of Uzbek literature in the first half of the 15th century. Manuscripts of his divans have been preserved in the archives of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Uzbek SSR in Tashkent and in the British Museum in London. WORKSTänlängä näsärlär.
