NetWeaver
The application platform for the SAP Business Suite of applications. Superseding SAP's earlier BASIS platform and launched with mySAP ERP 2005, this comprehensive set of software components, which is the technology foundation of SAP's flagship software, was re-engineered into a service-oriented architecture (SOA). In order to help developers understand the many component interrelationships, SAP redefined NetWeaver as a set of IT Practices, including "User Productivity Enablement" and "Data Unification." The Practices contain IT Scenarios, each of which contains the IT processes necessary to perform the operation. See SAP Business Suite.
