SGRAM

(Synchronous Graphics RAM) A memory chip that includes enhanced functions for graphics rendering. For example, Block Write is used to fill large areas with a single color, and Mask Write is used to change selected memory locations. Used in graphics DDR (GDDR) memory, SGRAM is single ported and based on SDRAM. See video RAM and SDRAM.

3D RAGE PRO's 64-bit, 100 MHz SGRAM interface delivers 800 MB/s of low- latency frame buffer bandwidth, which is the highest bandwidth achieved by any mainstream graphics controller.
Engineered in-step with the trend toward media-intensive applications, Simple Technology's SGRAM modules meet industry standards and are manufactured in a small-outline DIMM, making it easier for both end-users and OEM designers to move to higher memory capacities.
Because SGRAM provides more than double the bandwidth of EDO, PC manufacturers are able to outperform 2MB EDO solutions using only 1MB of SGRAM.
The 128Mbit SGRAM is organized 4Mx32, and hence is an ideal graphics memory for 32, 64, 128 and 256 bit bus applications.
