Sablé, Madeleine de Souvré, marquise de (mädəlĕn` də s vrā`, märkēz` də säblā`), 1599–1678, French woman of letters. Her salon was in vogue after the decline of the salon at the Hôtel de Rambouillet; its circle included Mme de La Fayette, Philippe I, duc d'Orléans, and La Rochefoucauld.
