Sabunchi

an urban-type settlement in the Azerbaijan SSR, on the Apsheron Peninsula, under the jurisdiction of the Lenin raion soviet of the city of Baku. Industry in Sabunchi includes the Iu. Kasimov and the Bakinskii Rabochii machine-building plants and an asphalt-concrete plant. The Baku Industrial and Pedagogical Technicum is also located there. Petroleum is extracted in the area.
