Activities:Guided and self-guided tours, costumed interpreters.
Special Features:During the war of 1812 Sackets Harbor was the center of American naval and military activity for the upper Saint Lawrence Valley and Lake Ontario. A British-Canadian force attempted to destroy the American shipyard there in an 1813 battle. After the war, the fleet was placed in storage and the battlefield reverted to farmlands.
