Sadri, Mukhamed
(pen name of Mukhamed Khabibullo-vich Sadretdinov). Born May 7 (20), 1913, in Kazan. Soviet Tatar poet. Member of the CPSU since 1938. From 1932 to 1936, Sadri studied in the drama department of the A. V. Lunacharskii State Theatrical Institute. He fought in the Great Patriotic War (1941–45). Sadri published his first works in 1930. He is the author of the poetry collections The Song Continues (1936), Song About the Communards (1940), Wonderful Youth (1950), The Beating of the Heart (1956), and Daughters of the Sun (1971). He has also written the lyrics for many songs. Sadri has translated the works of M. F. Ryl’skii, M. V. Isakovskii, S. B. Kaputikian, and G. L. Leonidze.
