Sadykhov, Abul’fas ali ogly 

(pseudonym Avaz Sa-dyk). Born 1898 in Ordubad; died Aug. 27, 1956, in Baku. Soviet Azerbaijani writer. Member of the CPSU since 1945.

Sadykhov graduated from the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute in 1931. He was a teacher and journalist and editor (from 1952) of the satirical journal Kirpi (Hedgehog). Sadykhov published his first works in 1930. His sketches “Il’ich Bay” (1935), “Lokbatan” (1935), “Basti” (1937), and “The Creators of Tomorrow” (1949) deal with the lives of the young builders of the city of Mingechaur, oil prospectors, and cotton growers. His novel Mingechaur (1951; Russian translation, 1951) combines documentary material with fiction. Sadykhov translated into Azerbaijani the works of Sophocles, Aeschylus, L. N. Tolstoy, and E. Zola.
