Saguinus
a genus of broad-nosed monkeys of the family Callithricidae. Unlike members of the genus Callithrix, representatives of Saguinus have highly developed canine teeth and lack tufts on the ears and rings on the tail. The body length ranges from 16 to 30 cm, and the tail measures 27–42 cm. The monkeys are distributed in the Amazon River basin. The female gives birth to two offspring, which are cared for primarily by the male. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
