San Carlos (săn kär`lōs), residential city (1990 pop. 26,167), San Mateo co., W Calif.; inc. 1925. The chief manufactures are plastic products, hardware, and machine parts.
San Carlos 

a city in the Philippines, in the northeastern part of Negros Island. Population, 90,000 (1970; 171,000 including suburbs). The main branch of industry is the sugar industry. There is cottage production of wicker mats and baskets and pottery. San Carlos has an airport.
