Location: Near the Dumbarton Bridge toll plaza in Fremont, California. Facilities: Visitor center, viewing sites, hiking trails, fishing pier, boat ramps, historic features, (é), environmental education center. Activities: Boating, canoeing, fishing, hunting, hiking, educational programs. Special Features: Refuge protects habitat for the endangered California clapper rail and the salt marsh harvest mouse, as well as the California brown pelican, California least tern, and peregrine falcon. Habitats: 30,000 acres of mudflats, open water, salt marshes, salt ponds, and uplands. Access: Year round during daylight hours.
