Sandage, C. H.

Sandage, C. H. (Charles Harold) (1902–  ) advertising educator; born in Hatfield, Mo. He taught business, marketing, and advertising at Miami University, Ohio (1929–46) and the University of Illinois (1946–68). He was president of the Farm Research Institute, Urbana, Ill. (1946), a marketing firm that studies the needs and wants of American farmers. His first book, Advertising Theory and Practice (1936), was a classic text, going through a dozen editions in 50 years. He was elected to the Advertising Hall of Fame in 1985, one of a very few noncommercial achievers to be so honored.
