Sanders, Marlene (1931– ) television reporter/producer; born in Cleveland, Ohio. After working with Mike Wallace on Night Beat (1956–58), she became WNEW public affairs director (1962–64) in New York. At ABC (1964–78), she was the first woman to coanchor the news, she produced documentaries (1972–78), and then became vice-president for news in 1977. A CBS Reports producer (1978–87), she wrote Waiting for Primetime (1988). In 1991 she began hosting Profiles in Progress for the Discovery Channel. How to thank TFD for its existence?
