Santa Paula

Santa Paula (săn`tə pôl`ə), city (1990 pop. 25,062), Ventura co., S Calif., on the Santa Clara River in a fertile valley that yields citrus fruits, avocados, vegetables, flowers, nursery products, and walnuts; laid out 1875, inc. 1902. Fruit packing and oil production are major industries. Manufactures include concrete and paper products and lingerie. The Union Oil Company, founded in Santa Paula in 1890, operates a notable oil museum there.

SANTA PAULA -- One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting after a traffic crash on the 900 block of East Virginia Terrace late Friday, according to Santa Paula police.
The harsh sentence of humiliation by obliteration has been lifted: The Los Angeles Times has reinstated the Venture County city of Santa Paula to its daily weather map.
The Santa Paula station has served as a principal communications lifeline providing instant communications to ships at sea, aircraft, and to people located in parts of the world where there is no communications infrastructure.
