Santa Rosa Lake State Park Location: 7 miles north of Santa Rosa via NM 91. Facilities: 76 developed campsites (25 with electric hookups), restrooms (é), showers, picnic areas (é), group shelter, hiking trail, boat ramps, courtesy dock, visitor center. Activities: Camping, boating, sailing, canoeing, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, jet skiing, windsurfing, scuba diving, hiking, wildlife viewing. Special Features: Located on the plains of eastern New Mexico, Park's centerpiece is the Pecos River reservoir, which offers a variety of water recreation opportunities. In addition, the nearby town of Santa Rosa is known for its natural sinkhole lakes, where divers from around the country come to learn scuba skills.
