The town's imposing 17th century church Sant Bartolomeu i Santa Tecla, right on the beach, serves as a backdrop for the light show while a symphony orchestra, set up on a stage on the sand, provide the soundtrack.
One Sunday morning an all-too-familiar scene unfolded in the sacristy at Iglesia El Carmen in Santa Tecla, outside San Salvador.
Influenced by the festival of Santa Tecla, the paintings go on show in the Print Room of the Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery from Tuesday.
