São Carlos 

a city in southeastern Brazil, in São Paulo State. Population, 75,700 (1970). A railroad junction, São Carlos is a commercial center for coffee, sugar, grain, tobacco, cotton, and cattle. It has enterprises for the production of textiles, food, refrigerators, and agricultural equipment.
