São Gonçalo 

a city in southeastern Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro State; situated on Guanabara Bay. Population, 162,700 (1970). São Gonçalo has a railroad station. Industry includes the manufacture of construction materials and chemicals, oil refining, food processing, and ferrous metallurgy.
