São José dos Campos
a city in southeastern Brazil, in São Paulo State; located in the Paraiba River valley. Population, 148,300(1970). A highway junction, São José dos Campos has a railroad station. Industry includes food processing and the production of textiles and chemicals. Machine building, represented by automotive and electrical-engineering enterprises, is also important.
