Born Dec. 15, 1925, in Margilan, in present-day Fergana Oblast. Soviet Uzbek singer (lyric coloratura soprano). People’s Artist of the USSR (1959).

Kabulova graduated from D. B. Beliavskaia’s class at theMoscow Conservatory in 1954. Between 1941 and 1948 sheworked in the Mukimi Uzbek Theater and since 1954 has beena soloist with the Uzbek Theater of Opera and Ballet in Tash-kent. Kabulova has appeared in national Uzbek operas asZukhra in Takhir and Zukhra by Dzhalilov and Brovtsyn, Dilo-rom in the opera of the same name by Ashrafi, and Leili in Leiliand Medzhnun by Gliere and Sadykov. She also performs in theclassical repertoire, she has appeared as Gilda in Verdi’s Rigo-letto, Iolantha in Tchaikovsky’s opera of the same name, andMimi in Puccini’s La Bohème. She has given concerts and hasfrequently performed on tour abroad. In 1969, Kabulova began teaching at the Tashkent Conservatory.
